Notes
I know it’s totally neurotic to think about Twitter stuff this much, but here’s how I make sure that the stuff I write on Twitter is “good enough”:
I try to keep the quality of what I write high enough that if an Internet person whose work I like came along at any time and happened to see my Twitter, they wouldn’t think I was a dick, and I would be happy (nay proud) to say “yep, that stuff’s all mine.”
As for who those people are that I admire, I don’t want to name too many names, because it kinda feels like fishing for follows (which is totally not what I’m doing), but we’re talking about any and all of the YLNT guys, we’re talking about Tom Merritt, we’re talking about Jesse Thorn, and we’re talking about Michael Johnston. That’s just to give you an idea of the calibre of people I’m going for here.
So, basically, the idea that someone I like might be looking at my Twitter is what stops me from posting bullshit.
