Bam! Ka-pow! Ca-caw!

Onomatopœia - Wikipedia:

Marvel Comics has trademarked two words of their own invention: “thwip!”, the sound of Spider-Man’s web shooter, and “snikt!” the switchblade-sound of Wolverine’s claws locking into place (which was replaced with the lesser-known “schlikt” during the period he was left without the adamantium covering on his bones).

I’m partial to the classics like “BLAM,” “KA-CHING,” and “MEEEOW,” (amirite, ladies?) but I think there’s a severe lack of onomatopœia for everyday sounds. For example, one of my favourites is “hnmm,” that half-laugh kind of sound people make with their nose and mouth when they understand my jokes but they’re trying to hide the fact that they don’t think they’re very funny.

Anyone have any favourite onomatopœia?
